Graduation

Degree/Diploma/Technical Certificate of Credit Graduate

All students who expect to graduate must complete and submit the graduation application, have it signed by his/her program advisor, AND SUBMIT IT TO THE REGISTRAR’S OFFICE ONE ACADEMIC TERM PRIOR TO THE COMPLETION DATE.  A student must complete at least 25% of his or her credit hours at Southern Crescent Technical College in order to be awarded a diploma, degree, or certificate from Southern Crescent Technical College. The 25% does not include advanced standing through the transfer of credit, military credit, credit by exemption, credit by experience, or articulation.   

All students must pay the non-refundable processing fee of $40.00* when the application is submitted, regardless of participation in the Graduation Ceremony.

All students planning to participate in the commencement ceremony must register online via the “Information for Participating Graduates” website by the designated deadline. Students who select the participation box on the graduation application are notified by email when information is available regarding the Graduation Ceremony and registration process. It is the student’s responsibility to initiate the graduation process including, completing the application to graduate, registering for the graduation ceremony, purchasing graduation regalia, and any other graduation related activities.

Students participating in the graduation ceremony will be required to pay a separate fee of $70 plus $4.95 service (credit card) fee for the graduation regalia. This fee is paid directly to the Scholastic Images. Ordering information for graduation regalia is sent to students once they have completed the graduation registration process. Late fees will be applied for students who do not order the graduation regalia package by the posted priority deadline.

**Students who submit their graduation application after the posted priority deadline will not be eligible to have their name in the printed Commencement Day program.

Graduation candidates must meet all academic (Cumulative 2.0 grade point average and regular program admission status) and financial obligations prior to graduation. Credentials are available approximately 8-10 weeks after all final grades are posted for that term (not including weekends, holidays, or college closures).
