EMSP 2101 Paramedic Pharmacology & Airway Management
This course prepares students to safely and effectively manage the pharmacologic and airway needs of patients at the paramedic provider level. Topics include foundational advanced principles of pharmacology, medication administration, and airway management techniques. Students will integrate pathophysiologic concepts and apply clinical reasoning to support pharmacologic interventions and airway/ventilation decisions. Skill development is reinforced through lab and scenario-based practice.
This course is designed in accordance with the 2021 National EMS Education Standards and is further guided by both the National EMS Scope of Practice Model and the Georgia Scope of Practice. These scope documents define the clinical and operational expectations for paramedic-level practice and shape the depth and breadth of learning objectives. As scope of practice models are periodically updated, instructional content and assessments are reviewed to ensure alignment with the most current competencies required for safe and effective patient care in Georgia
