PHYS 1111 Introductory Physics I

This course introduces core concepts in classical physics, focusing on motion, forces, energy, and matter. Students explore kinematics, Newtons laws, friction, work, energy, power, momentum, collisions, circular motion, gravity, rotational dynamics, fluids, harmonic motion, and wave behavior. Optional competencies such as elasticity, thermodynamics, heat transfer, and sound are selected based on students' academic programs. Emphasis is placed on applying physical laws to real-world situations through problem-solving and critical thinking.
