FOSC 2041 Latent Print Examination

This course explains the history, biology, and basic principles of friction ridge analysis. Properly recording, processing, documenting, collecting, and preserving latent print evidence will be discussed. Students will also be introduced to the Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS) and the analysis, comparision, and evaluation of latent prints. Various lab exercises will also be conducted to demonstrate processing methods used in latent print examination.
