Program Description

The Advanced Medical Assisting TCC program is a comprehensive program designed for students seeking to elevate their careers within the Medical Assisting profession. This program goes beyond basic medical assisting skills, equipping students with the specialized skills and knowledge required to perform both advanced clinical procedures and sophisticated administrative tasks in a medical office or healthcare setting. The Advanced Medical Assisting TCC provides a rigorous curriculum that integrates hands-on practice with theoretical learning, covering topics such as advanced patient care, diagnostic testing, medical billing and coding, and healthcare law and ethics. The program emphasizes the development of critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills essential for managing the complexities of modern healthcare environments. Graduates of this program will be prepared to take on more complex roles within healthcare teams, assist physicians in specialized medical procedures, manage electronic health records, and ensure smooth operational flow in medical facilities. Upon completion, students will be eligible for advanced certifications and well-positioned for career advancement in the growing field of medical assisting. 

Admission Requirements

  • Submit completed application and application fee
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Submit official high school transcript or GED transcript with test scores and ALL post-secondary transcripts in an official sealed envelope
  • This certificate is embedded in the Medical Assisting Diploma Program only. It is NOT a stand alone certificate.
  • Meet assessment requirements

Note: While all courses are offered, they may vary by term and campus. See the program advisor for any questions. Grading standards for medical assisting courses are very stringent. For students to progress to the next course of study, a minimum grade of C must be maintained.
